Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood Information

Mount Pleasant is sometimes referred to as Vancouver’s “first” suburb. In 1890 the first street cars appeared in Mount Pleasant thus making the area very appealing to working class families looking for an easy transit route to Vancouver City Centre, False Creek and Brewery Creek (which was the center for business in the 1890’s). Today Mount Pleasant is a trendy neighborhood and considered to be one of the most diverse communities in the city, with a wide range of real estate, restaurants and residences.

The Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board separates Mount Pleasant into two subareas, Mount Pleasant West and Mount Pleasant East. Mount Pleasant West stretches from Cambie Street to Ontario Street (West to East) & 6th Avenue to 16th Avenue (North to South). Mount Pleasant East is located between Ontario Street to Clark Drive (West-East) & Hastings Street to 16th Avenue (North to South).
